First-Ever Virtual Torch of Dignity Event!

If your flame for human rights burns brightly, you and your family and friends are invited to tune into the first-ever virtual Torch of Dignity event, hosted on Facebook Live Sunday, August 23.

The live stream event will feature greetings from three levels of government, entertainment, and the premier of the Torch of Dignity virtual relay video. The event will also feature special guest speakers discussing the topic of systemic racism in Canada.

Sponsored by Manitobans for Human Rights (MHR), this year’s virtual event represents all peoples uniting to promote diversity, inclusion, and equality.

Preceding the live event on August 23, 100 community organizations will virtually pass the Torch of Dignity through the #ManitobansSteppingUp social media campaign, running from August 4-22. The campaign offers organizations the chance to share why they are stepping up for human rights and human dignity in Manitoba while being featured on all of MHR’s online platforms.

The Facebook Live Stream event is free to the public. Companies and organizations can register as virtual relay participants for the #ManitobansSteppingUp campaign by calling (204) 783-8374 or emailing mbrights@mymts.net. For more information, visit www.mhri.ca.

Manitobans for Human Rights is a registered non-profit organization that promotes human rights learning to all Manitobans.
